During the summer season in Daegu a.k.a. Daefrica, most of us would prefer staying indoors because it is hot outside. But at some point, we also get bored of doing the same things inside our house. In one of the episodes of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?”, the woman told Lee Young Joon that she is taking him for a “hot date”. Since it was the first time I heard the term “hot date”, I thought it was a very intimate, romantic and passionate date. But I was mistaken! She took him to Seomun Night Market to eat a spicy dish.

Seomun Market is one of the biggest markets in Daegu and one of the oldest in South Korea. Believe it or not, this market was one of the three fundamental markets during the Joseon Era. In 2016, Seomun Market opened (or started) its own Yasijang 야시장 or night market.

I discovered that Seomun Night Market is a famous filming location for Kdramas in Daegu such as: The Musical (2011), Four Men (2018), and the recently concluded, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. Since curiosity always kills the cat, I went to see for myself what this market offers and what activities can I do.
